In LP2 you can get all the items you want just by playing PvP multiplayer, the boss killing is a major focus of the game it's the multiplayer.
LOST PLANET 2 PC SOLO UPGRADE
You fight bosses during campaign and you don't have a need to fight them again unlike in MH where you need to keep killing big bosses for loot to upgrade your character. Also people can say this is like a Monster Hunter with guns but that's really not what it is at all. It's just a very weird game that came out at a time during which the market was expecting something else. Also the RNG element of acquiring items that made the game fun in multiplayer was kinda bad though you could grind for them against bots (like I did). This game played nothing like it and you had weird mechanics like getting stun locked or general aiming that were unlike other shooting games. The marketing was also kinda off, they marketed as some big AAA 3rd person shooter with co-op in a time when Gears of War was huge. Fighting monsters was sort of fun especially the big bossess but a lot of them had weird gimmicks attached to them that made them unfun (the gif in the OP is an example of unfun activities you did during those encounters). The campaigns were mostly just linear multiplayer maps like combat scenarios against mostly brain dead AI. LP2 was one of my most played games and I thoroughly enjoyed it but some of its flaws were hard to ignore.
